On the afternoon of November 25, the university held a review and sharing session for the City University Malaysia short-term exchange program in Meeting Room 404 of the International Student College. Vice President Li Houyan attended the meeting.

It is reported that the short-term exchange program officially commenced on October 20, led by Yang Liming, Vice Dean of the School of Management, who accompanied six 2024-level accounting majors to  City University Malaysia for a 25-day study exchange. The program focused on three core objectives—language enhancement, cultural immersion, and professional development—and meticulously designed an integrated “learning-reflection-practice” framework. During the exchange, students participated in full English language proficiency tests and immersed themselves in international classrooms and specialized module studies. They systematically studied professional courses such as basic accounting and financial instruments, visited Chinese-funded enterprises in Malaysia such as China Railway Construction and China State Construction, and explored multicultural heritage in locations like Penang and Malacca. This comprehensive experience significantly enhanced their language proficiency, professional competencies, and cross-cultural communication skills.

At the meeting, Li Houyan highly commended the program’s fruitful outcomes. She encouraged the students to cherish the international exchange platform provided by the university, step out of their comfort zones, and embrace the global stage. By continuously broadening their global perspectives, they can enhance their comprehensive qualities and core competitiveness, positioning themselves at the forefront of the international wave.

Following this, Yang Liming, the leading instructor, reviewed the program’s implementation from three perspectives—language learning, cultural integration, and professional growth—and praised the students’ strong adaptability and proactive learning mindset. Participating students and teachers studying in Malaysia shared their academic insights, cultural experiences, and personal growth gains.

The Malaysia short-term exchange program is a significant initiative by the university to advance international education and cultivate high-quality talents with a global vision. Moving forward, the university will continue to expand high-quality overseas learning resources, transform the outcomes of short-term exchanges into lasting momentum for student growth, and empower more students to demonstrate the excellence of  Shenyang Urban Construction University on the international stage.

Representatives from  City University Malaysia, along with leaders from the university’s Youth League Committee, International Exchange Office, and International Student College, as well as all program participants and student representatives from various schools, attended the sharing session.
